ETRC - Lacko Reigns At Hungaroring To Extend Title Lead
ETRC - 2017 Race of Hungaroring - Races 3 & 4
Adam Lacko celebrated a perfect Sunday at the Hungaroring with a double victory to add to his earlier success on Saturday.
The Czech driver delivered a faultless display to seal a hat-trick of victories and stretch his points advantage over his rivals to 58 points with four events remaining.
Driving his Buggyra International Racing System Freightliner, Lacko made it a total of nine wins in his 2017 FIA ETRC campaign.
Reinert Racing’s Steffi Halm also enjoyed a fruitful day as she took a third and second place to extend her excellent run of results so far this season.
Local ace Norbert Kiss had a bitter/sweet Sunday on his home turf after a pole position and fighting second place in race three preceded a retirement in the final 11-lap contest.
It was a tough end for his loyal and large legion of fans that descended on the track over the weekend with 32,000 of them roaring their hero on.
Race Three
Adam Lacko took his second victory of the weekend at Hungaroring after holding off local favourite Norbert Kiss throughout an enthralling race three.
The current championship leader stretched his advantage, as he chases a first FIA ETRC title, by taking the lead from pole sitter Norbert Kiss at turn three on the first tour of the 11-lap encounter.
It was Lacko’s eighth win of the 2017 season and he soaked up the close advances of Kiss who was cheered on by another large home crowd.
It wasn’t quite enough though for another victory as Lacko took the chequered flag just 0.765s ahead of his rival.

Race Four
Adam Lacko took his third victory of the Hunagroring weekend with a brilliantly judged win in his Buggyra International Racing System Freightliner.
Extending his championship points lead, Lacko vaulted from eighth position to the lead within the first three laps of the final 11-lap encounter this afternoon.
The victory also signalled Lacko’s third hat-trick of wins during a race weekend in the 2017 FIA ETRC as he dominated proceedings to win by a comfortable 4.3 seconds.
Gerd Korber led Sascha Lenz away from pole position and held the lead despite Lenz’s best efforts to find a way through at turn one.
There was drama heading in to turn two as contact was made between Jochen Hahn, Lenz and Shane Brereton. This in turn caused the unfortunate Antonio Albacete to head off in to the barriers in avoidance.
The Spaniard re-joined last with a badly damaged Truck Sport Lutz Bernau MAN. Hahn later apologised to Lenz after a suspected braking issue caused the chain-reaction shunt.
