ETRC - Hahn and Kiss Take Sunday Wins at Slovakia Ring
ETRC - 2018 Race of Slovakia - Race 3 & 4
Race 3
Jochen Hahn claimed his sixth win of the 2018 FIA European Truck Racing Championship season in the third Slovakia Ring race today.
The Hahn Racing IVECO driver further extended his championship lead as he led home polesitter Adam Lacko by just 0.443s.
It was another accomplished drive by Hahn who is aiming to become a five-time champion in the FIA ETRC this season.
Hahn cleared Lacko’s Buggyra International Racing System Freightliner in the opening stages and was never headed despite Lacko’s best efforts to get back on terms.
The final podium place saw a riveting battle between Steffi Halm’s Team Schwabentruck IVECO and Norbert Kiss’ Mercedes-Benz. The pair were engaged in battle for most of the race but it was eventually Halm who took the third place and Kiss who faced disappointment as he fell down the order to sixth place after gaining a 10-second penalty for overspeeding.
The Hungarian’s penalty allowed Andre Kursim’s Don’t Touch Racing IVECO in to fourth and Sascha Lenz’s SL Trucksport MAN through in to fifth position.
Antonio Albacete was in the hunt for a potential podium position as he joined the Halm and Kiss battle but the Spaniard also received several 10-second penalties and was ultimately excluded from the results.

Race 4
Two-time FIA European Truck Racing Championship title-winner Norbert Kiss took his first win of the 2018 campaign in the fourth and final race of the weekend at Slovakia Ring.
The Team Tankpool24 Racing driver started third for the semi-reversed grid race and cleared his team-mate Steffen Faas during the opening exchanges.
After that he went on to chase early leader and front-row started Rene Reinert. Halfway through the eight-lap race the Hungarian ace found his way by the blue MAN truck run by Reinert Racing and remained in control until the chequered flag.
Reinert finished second on the road but was given a 10-second penalty for overspeeding that moved him down to seventh overall.
The race featured close fights with up to six trucks battling for a podium finish. Finally, Sascha Lenz came second aboard his SL Trucksport MAN.
Andre Kursim in his Don't Touch Racing IVECO and points standings leader Jochen Hahn in his family Team Hahn Racing-run truck took third and fourth.
Fifth went to Adam Lacko in his Freightliner prepared by Buggyra International Racing System. The Czech ace finished one place ahead of Steffi Halm in her Team Schawabentruck IVECO.
