2014 Rally de Portugal - Preview
Based in the south, in the Algarve, the fourth round of the series has attracted 85 entrants and the event will also play host to the opening round of the FIA Junior WRC Championship in which 14 crews will battle for honours in two-wheel drive Citroën DS3 R3s.
This year the start has been moved to Estoril, but the popular street stage in the city of Lisbon remains and kicks off the event on Thursday evening. From here, crews head back to the familiar gravel stages in the south for three days of competition based around the Estádio Algarve.
For the third year running, the popular WRC Fafe Rally Sprint is also back. Based in the north of the country, the Rally Sprint will take place over the iconic Fafe-Lameirinha stage, providing a spectacular appetizer on Saturday 29 March for the thousands of fans in the country.
The opening SSS1 Lisbon, and SS16 - the Loulé Power Stage - will be broadcast live, nationally and internationally; other stages will also be live on RTP.
