Volkswagen Motorsport’s Jari-Matti Latvala has powered into a commanding lead in Rally Mexico, the third round of the FIA World Rally Championship. The Finn has won six of the day’s nine stages to extend his advantage to one minute 35.7 seconds. Reigning World Champion Sébastien Ogier has made the best of his difficult position at the head of the field, pushing hard to minimise time loss, but the Frenchman is now looking to secure his second position and take maximum points in Sunday’s Power Stage. Dani Sordo remains the lead Hyundai, the Spaniard third overnight.
