On a damp Silverstone track and under grey skies the first practice session of the 2016 FIA World Endurance Championship got underway.

The UN General Assembly today approved a resolution supporting coordinated global action for road safety. In particular, the resolution could pave the way for the creation of a UN Road Safety Fund – a project actively supported by the FIA High Level Panel for Road Safety and FIA President Jean Todt, who is also the UN Secretary General’s Special Envoy for Road Safety.

The three all-female crews selected by the FIA Women in Motorsport Commission and Qatar Motor and Motorcycle Federation to contest the Sealine Cross Country Rally have completed their final preparations for the event, which takes place across the deserts of the State of Qatar from 16-22 April.

The huge field of young driver talent in the ADAC Formula 4 Championship has today (14 April) completed a mandatory training course at Oschersleben, Germany ahead of the season’s first race meeting this weekend. No fewer than 34 drivers attended the session which was coordinated by FIA and DMSB officials.
