Bosnia and Herzegovina Automobile Club (BIHAMK) has been granted 2-star accreditation as part of the FIA Environmental Accreditation Programme. The several-month-long accreditation process proved to be very rewarding for BIHAMK as it helped structure its pro-environmental activities which have been an essential part of its long-term strategy to reduce its environmental impact.

However, in recent years, a number of measures have been developed to limit the negative effects of tyres – and through research, sustainability requirements and stricter controls, the FIA is playing its part in reducing the impact.

Svenska Bilsportforbundet (SBF) publishes a report showing that motor sport arenas in the country play an important role in preserving biodiversity. Results of the insect inventory undertaken at three race tracks around Sweden show a high species richness with 390 species of insects found including five red-listed ones. Svenska Bilsportforbundet advocates for the adoption of dedicated management plans for all race tracks that identify the conservation measures allowing to maintain and develop biodiversity.

The FIA Smart Driving Challenge is a global challenge that encourages everyday motorists to adopt smarter, cleaner, and safer driving behaviour. A collaboration between FIA and Greater Than, the FIA Smart Driving Challenge analyses real-time driving behaviour using Greater Than’s pattern AI technology. Participants in the 2022 Season achieved an average CO2 saving of 12.3% vs the global average.*
