Germany’s biggest auto club, Allgemeiner Deutscher Automobile-Club (ADAC) and Romanian club Automobil Clubul Roman (ACR) were awarded a subsidy through the 2014 FIA Capacity Building Grant Programme, which they used to translate, promote and implement “Rescue Sheets” in Romania.

What about connected drivers? In 2015, a study focusing on the evaluation of how the use of smart glasses for navigation would affect driver behavior compared to the use of a satellite navigation device or high quality verbal instruction got funded through the FIA Road Safety Grant Programme. The project was developed by the RAC Foundation in cooperation with experts of the Human factors and Simulation Group at the Transport Research Laboratory (TRL).

Croatian auto club Hrvatski autoklub’s (HAK) “5 for kids”, which was awarded a subsidy through the FIA Road Safety Grant Programme for 2015, is a combination of HAK’s five projects for spring 2015: #SaveKidsLives, Think Bike, Sigurno u prometu (“Safe in traffic”) - FIA ETEC pre-contest, school traffic units contest and Zagreb Energy Week. The initiative took place in May 2015.

The Motor Sports Association (MSA) UK, a member of the FIA, has launched the 2015 MSA/FIA Action for Road Safety Film Studies Competition, supported by the FIA Road Safety Grant Programme. Young Britons aged 16 to 24 are invited to submit short films highlighting one of the FIA’s 10 Golden Rules for Safer Motoring.
