It looked like the no8 Audi R18 e-tron quattro was going to post the fastest lap of the second 90-minute Free Practice session with Lucas Di Grassi’s 1m47.684, but Timo Bernhard in the No17 Porsche 919 Hybrid beat it with just three minutes left on the clock.
The Lone Star Le Mans meeting at COTA, the fifth round of the 2015 World Endurance Championship, got off to a meteoric start today in hot and humid conditions.
Round 5 of the 2015 FIA World Endurance Championship will be held at the Circuit of the Americas in Texas on 17-19 September. This will be the third visit by the WEC to the Lone Star State and the fourth race in the United States of America.
