Valente splits the Citroën cars
Hugo Valente’s Campos Racing Chevrolet RML Cruze was the only car able to stay on the Citroën’s pace during the second practice.
The young Frenchman posted a second fastest lap of 2:05.718 that was only two tenths slower than José María López’s 2:05.469. The latter continued to top the time sheets at the Slovakia Ring after being the fastest in yesterday’s testing and this morning Practice 1.
López’s team-mates Sébastien Loeb and Yvan Muller were classified in third and fourth, with gaps of five and seven tenths respectively.
After posting the second fastest lap in the first practice, Norbert Michelisz was the best of the Honda drivers, in fifth position (2:06.379). ROAL Motorsport duo of Tom Chilton (2:06.487) and Tom Coronel (2:06.545) were classified in sixth and seventh respectively, followed by a couple of other Chevrolet cars: Dušan Borković’s and René Münnich’s; Mehdi Bennani rounded off the top ten.
In the TC2T class, Franz Engstler posted the best time of 2:12.943, leaving Petr Fulín 1.3 seconds behind. A couple of drivers had moments: John Filippi went off at T6 in the early stages, while Rob Huff lost control of his LADA at T9 but avoided contact with the barrier.
The Qualifying session will start at 14:00.
