09.08.24

The Cayman Motoring Federation (CMF) is pleased to report the success of its members in the Jamaica Simulation Racing Association (JSRA) Formula 4 Championship Series on iRacing. Commencing in June 2024, this rigorous 6-round series featured participation from leading racers across the Caribbean, the Americas, Europe, and the United Kingdom. The event served as a preparatory competition for the FIA Motorsports Games scheduled for October 2024.

Ian Lance Charlery, a prominent racer from the CMF, demonstrated remarkable skill and determination, leading the championship poles through race 4. Although he was unable to participate in races 5 and 6 due to unforeseen circumstances, Charlery achieved a respectable 5th place overall finish out of 28 competitors, reflecting his talent and resilience.

Commenting on his experience, Charlery stated, "Leading the championship through the 4th round against some of the most competitive drivers in the region was an incredible experience. The competition is intense, and even small mistakes are costly. The JSRA F4 championship offers valuable experience not just for fast racers but also for those new to the sport."

Other CMF member performances included Alessandro Di Felice, who finished 11th, and Julian Narcisse, who finished 15th. The JSRA F4 series provided an excellent simulator racing experience for all esports participants.

In the team standings, Charlery’s team finished an impressive 2nd place, while another Cayman team secured the 11th position out of 20 teams. These results highlight the depth of talent and competitive spirit within the Cayman Motoring Federation.

The JSRA Formula 4 Championship Series has set a high standard for virtual racing events, offering racers a platform to hone their skills and compete against top regional talents.

The CMF looks forward to the future of Esports and anticipates more opportunities for its members to excel on the international stage. Notably, Ian Charlery is set to represent the Cayman Islands in Esports F4, while Karyll Iton will compete in Esports GT at the upcoming FIA Motorsport Games.
