The Congress was attended by FIA President Mohammed Ben Sulayem, FIA Deputy President for Sport Robert Reid and FIA Vice Presidents for Sport, Daniel Coen for North America and Fabiana Ecclestone for South America.

During the three-day event, discussions focused on Sport Club Empowerment to increase motor sport participation in the Americas, among other topics. Williams presented his CJKAT report, emphasizing the importance of nurturing young drivers through a sustainable regional championship and media coverage on various platforms. He also highlighted the significance of working with the ASNs in other Caribbean territories to implement the FIA ASN development series concept. 
 

ABOUT CJKAT

CJKAT is inspired by the CIK-FIA Karting Academy Trophy, which has been a stepping stone to Formula 1 since 2010. It is funded by the FIA Sport Grant Programme and managed by the BMF.

After the inaugural event in 2019, the competition was paused due to the pandemic, resuming in November 2022 and hosting its third edition in Jamaica in July 2023. More than 30 kart racers from Barbados, Guyana, Jamaica, and Trinidad and Tobago, aged 11 to 17, have participated, with several improving their performance year over year. The 2023 CJKAT Champion is 13-year-old Naomi Garcia from Trinidad and Tobago. 

CJKAT24 is planned to be hosted by the Trinidad and Tobago Karting Association (TTKA) in Garcia's home country.
