TACI revives the Silk Road with Caravan Tourism Rally
The Touring and Automobile Club of Iran (TACI) has successfully revived the Silk Road with a caravan tourism rally to celebrate Nowruz, the Persian New Year, and promoted a message of peace and prosperity. This event brought together 28 RVs and towed caravans from all over Iran, which were welcomed by Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan, and Tajikistan, all of whom share a common heritage and history.
The rally departed from Iran's Bajgiran border crossing with Turkmenistan on March 23 and crossed through the ancient Silk Road, passing through Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan, and Tajikistan, and returning via the same route with an expected total time frame of four weeks.
The start line of the rally was attended by local dignitaries, the media, and enthusiasts, creating a festive atmosphere. TACI's regional counterparts and neighbors also joined the celebration of Nowruz, which will lay the groundwork for more events of this nature and encourage greater regional cooperation, with a firm focus on safe driving.
This Caravan Tourism Rally is a significant step towards reviving the Silk Road and strengthening cultural and economic ties between Iran and its neighboring countries. TACI's successful execution of this event showcases its commitment to promoting tourism and regional cooperation while also celebrating the rich cultural heritage of the Silk Road.
