Codasur Rally Championship
Codasur Rally Championship
On a continent where rallying is hugely popular, the FIA CODASUR Rally Championship has provided gravel-based action since 1997. However, border restrictions to control the spread of COVID-19 between various South American nations has meant the CODASUR title has not been awarded since 2019.
Taking its name from the Confederacion Deportiva Automovilismo Sudamericana body, the CODASUR Rally Championship has seen an increasing participation of Rally2 cars over the years and is also open to locally approved ‘Maxi Rally’ vehicles, a formula originally developed in Argentina.
Titles up for grabs
- FIA CODASUR for Drivers and Co-Drivers in a car from any group
- FIA CODASUR3 for Drivers and Co-Drivers in Rally3 cars
- FIA CODASUR4 for Drivers and Co-Drivers in Rally4 and Rally5 cars
What’s new for 2022?
With a CODASUR Rally Championship not possible in 2020 and 2021 due to COVID-19 restrictions, the series returns in 2022 with an updated structure in line with the FIA Rally Cars Pyramid, including FIA CODASUR3 for Drivers and Co-Drivers in Rally3 cars.
