AA Vietnam, founded by the FIA Affiliated Member AIP Foundation, launched the expansion of national roadside assistance to all 63 provinces across Vietnam in a ceremony in Hanoi on 10 September, 2018.

FIA Region II President Mike Noon attended the ceremony as guest of honour and keynote speaker.

"Saving lives on roads is a major part of the FIA mission", said Noon, "and AA Vietnam, founded by Greig Craft and FIA Affiliated Member AIP Foundation, has been an essential partner in promoting road safety initiatives in Vietnam. They will now be able to offer more services through these 194 nationwide garages".

The Royal Automobile Association of South Australia (RAA) carried out an FIA-funded mentorship and training program with AA Vietnam for two years, and were present with Vietnamese officials from the National Traffic Road Safety Committee at the ceremony. RAA Senior Technicians Simon Halford and Trevor Pursche were in-country providing the latest in training services to selected AA Vietnam garages and staff.

AA Vietnam President Greig Craft said, "The FIA is the global leader in mobility and motor sport, including road crash prevention and road safety education programs. In addition to roadside assistance, insurance, and lifestyle benefits, our tourism programs will provide Vietnamese members with access to the global motoring community and associated tourism opportunities. With eight World Heritage Sites, Vietnam is a prime tourist destination for FIA's 80 million international members and offers reciprocal privileges for service and roadside assistance while visiting”.
