Adam Lacko was the class of the FIA ETRC field at Misano on Sunday as he helped himself to a double win in races seven and eight in the 2017 FIA European Truck Racing Championship.

As well as winning both 12-lap encounters today, the Czech ace seized the lead in the title race in his Buggyra International Racing System Freightliner.

With a rare non-score for reigning champion Jochen Hahn in race four, Lacko enjoys a 12-point lead in the standings.

40,000 passionate fans enjoyed some remarkably close action throughout the field over the weekend at the second round of the 2017 FIA ETRC.

Race 3

Adam Lacko took his second victory of the weekend at Misano this afternoon after a textbook drive to claim the lead in the 2017 FIA European Truck Racing Championship standings.

The Buggyra International Racing System driver converted his pole position to a maximum 25-point score with a commanding win. It was Lacko’s fourth win in five races at Misano over the last 12 months.

Apart from a brief challenge from fellow front row starter, Jochen Hahn, in the opening three corners, Lacko was able to pull clear and then extend a  gap to second place finisher Norbert Kiss. The Czech driver won by a comfortable 3.5s.

Kiss, driving his Tankpool24 Racing Mercedes-Benz, was able to make his way past Hahn after yesterday’s race two winner appeared to slow on the opening lap.

The problem ensured reigning champion pitted on lap four for technical checks. The Hahn Racing Iveco driver returned to the race and finished an eventual eighth to ensure pole position on the reverse grid for race four.

Race 4 
Adam Lacko scored a brilliant victory in the fourth and final race at Misano this afternoon to take another hat-trick of victories at the Italian venue.His three wins this weekend reprised the same results he achieved exactly 12 months previously and ensured he extended his standings lead to 12 points over Steffi Halm. 

Halm took her third podium position of the weekend with second place in her Reinert Racing MAN after an epic battle throughout the 12-lap encounter with Norbert Kiss’ Tankpool24 Racing Mercedes-Benz who placed third.

The drama began even before the start of the race, as Jochen Hahn’s team tried to rectify a technical issue on his Hahn Racing Iveco in order to start from the reverse grid pole position. Sadly, they were unable to do so and Hahn was dealt an early blow in his quest to retain his FIA ETRC crown.

With Hahn’s slot on the grid left vacant, it was Thomas Robineau (Robineau MAN) who was effectively on pole position. The Frenchman got a fine start and led for the first two laps before a charging Gerd Körber (Team Schwaben-Truck Iveco) was able to make his way through in to a brief lead.
