WEC - All set for qualifying in Mexico

WEC - 2016 6 Hours of Mexico City - FP3

The final Free Practice session ahead of qualifying saw Porsche head Audi at the top of the timing screens with the no1 Porsche 919 of Brendon Hartley setting a 1m25.387, just over a tenth of a second ahead of the no7 Audi of Andre Lotterer and 0.286s ahead of the no8 Audi of Lucas Di Grassi.

The LMP2 class was headed by the no26 G Drive Racing Oreca05-Nissan with Rene Rast setting a 1m35.555, 0.4 ahead of the no36 Signatech Alpine of Nico Lapierre.

It was an Aston Martin 1-2 with the no97 Vantage of Richie Stanaway setting a slightly faster time than the no95 car of Marco Sorensen.  The two Ford GTs were 3rd and 4th fastest with the no66 ahead of no67.

The LMGTE Am class was once again headed by Porsche but this time it was the no88 Abu Dhabi Proton Racing Porsche of Pat Long that set the quickest time with a 1m41.823, 0.4 seconds ahead of the no98 Aston Martin Racing and the no86 Gulf Racing Porsche.

For the rest of the event the no7 Audi R18 will be driven by Andre Lotterer and Marcel Fassler after Benoit Treluyer has withdrawn from the 6 Hours of Mexico due to medical reasons (Stewards Decision no5). 

Qualifying for the 6 Hours of Mexico will get underway at 14h10 for LMGTE, followed at 14h40 by qualifying for the LMP competitors.
