American Top Gear presenter Tanner Foust will enter the upcoming World RX of Great Britain (27-29 May) for his first of two appearances in The 2016 FIA World Rallycross Championship presented by Monster Energy. He will compete in a Volkswagen RX Sweden prepared Volkswagen Polo RX Supercar.

Foust – who is the only American to win a World RX event – will return to Lydden Hill for the seventh consecutive year. The American driver has shown strong results at the classic rallycross track, having won there in 2012 and 2013.

"I feel very lucky to be able to compete at Lydden Hill again this year," explained Foust. "As the birthplace of rallycross, the track has a lot of history to it and I jumped at the chance to add the World RX of Great Britain to my competition schedule."

In addition to the Lydden Hill race later this month, Foust will also contest the penultimate round of the World Championship at the Estering in Germany (14-16 October).

World RX Managing Director for IMG, Paul Bellamy, commented: “Tanner is a natural behind the wheel of an RX Supercar which has already been demonstrated when he triumphed at World RX of Finland in extremely difficult conditions back in 2014.  He will join Ken Block as the second American driver to compete at our home event at Lydden Hill and I’m confident that both drivers will put on a fantastic show for the British fans.”

Foust began competing in rallycross events in Europe in 2010 and since then has won three American rallycross titles and is the only driver with back-to-back Formula Drift championships.
