The first track session of the Japanese round of the 2018/19 FIA World Endurance Championship saw the no8 Toyota Gazoo Racing TS050-Hybrid set the fastest time of the 90 minute session. In a session that was interrupted by a red flag period to repair a broken kerb, Sebastien Buemi set a 1m25.847 lap of the Fuji Speedway track, with the Kamui Kobayashi in the no7 Toyota just 0.534 seconds behind.

Ahead of the 6 Hours of Fuji, Round 4 of the 2018/19 FIA World Endurance Championship, the Endurance Committee has announced revisions to both the Equivalence of Technology (EoT) for LMP1 cars and Balance of Performance (BoP) for the LMGTE classes.
