On his home soil, Anthoine Hubert totally dominated to win the second Round of the U18 (under 18 year olds) World Championship, contested this weekend in Angerville. In doing so the Frenchman reduced the points difference in the Championship between himself and the Briton Henry Easthope, still leader. In the CIK-FIA Academy Trophy, the Belgian Benjamin Lessennes and the Italian Mattia Drudi cause a sensation by taking their first major international victories. But it was the Finn Joonas Lappalainen who did best of all to increase his lead in the Intermediate Classification.

On the French soil of Angerville, the British hit hard on Saturday. Second in Qualifying Practice for the U18 (under 18 year olds) World Championship, Ricky Collard then remained unbeaten in his Qualifying Heats, taking pole position for the first Prefinal. In the CIK-FIA Academy Trophy, two other Britons, Alex Gill and George Russell, will start from the front row of the grid for the first Race in that category.

Spectators around the Silverstone circuit this afternoon saw one of the most exciting qualifying sessions of the season. The battle raged at all levels. The rain that had disrupted the start of qualifying in LMGTE, also spiced-up the prototype qualifying session with a gradually drying track.

Spectators have arrived en masse in campsites around the Silverstone circuit. Although the sky was threatening and humidity stood at 82% the third and final free practice session remained dry with an air temperature of 18C.
