The Fédération Internationale de l'Automobile (FIA) will host over 300 FIA Officials in Madrid in early February, bringing together Stewards, Race Directors, and delegates from across Circuit, Rally and Road at the Circuito de Madrid Jarama - RACE.
The summit marks the first gathering of this scale since 2020, and alongside an opportunity for networking and knowledge sharing, will also see attendees taking part in interactive sessions discussing, among other topics, the FIA stewarding golden rules, rapid decision making, the power of positive communication, and the educational and qualification opportunities available to them through the FIA.
The summit is the next step in the FIA’s commitment of support to Officials and volunteers and follows the creation of a new Officials Department which provides a centralised approach to the recruitment of officiating talent, empowerment at a regional level, and improved efficient and cohesive operational processes.
There are currently over 300,000* formal, unpaid officials, marshals and volunteers, covering the 60,700+ motorsport events staged each year, and the FIA is dedicated to nurturing talent, continuing diversification, and supporting the volunteers who ensure every level of motorsport competition takes place in a safe, fair, and regulated way.
