Ordering an International Driving Permit is now easier and quicker thanks to the new Autoliitto mobile app.

While before the applicants had to fill in a form and send it via post with a passport photo and scans of their national driving license, now they can simply go through the whole process digitally via the mobile app.

The mobile app guides users through the process from choosing the right IDP – either the 1968 or 1949 convention – to eventually paying the IDP in their mobile bank.
They can attach an existing digital passport photo or take the photo directly in-app. In the end, they choose whether they want to receive the IDP at home or collect it from one of the Autoliitto offices. Naturally, the IDP is still standard paper version and not digital due to international agreements.

The IDP app can be downloaded for free from the AppStore and from the Play Store.
