Oak and Porsche are also victorious

After a difficult 24 Hours of Le Mans for many reasons, the No.2 Audi R18 e-tron quattro of Kristensen-McNish-Duval claimed Audi’s 12th victory in this 90th anniversary year of the event.  In second place was the No.8 Toyota Racing TS030 Hybrid of Buemi-Davidson-Sarrazin, ahead of the No.3 Audi of Jarvis-di Grassi-Gene.

Strakka Racing’s No.21 HPD ARX03c won the LMP1 Privateer category, with Leventis-Kane-Watts at the wheel, after the two Rebellion Racing Lola Toyotas ran into difficulties.

OAK Racing finished 1-2 in class, the No.35 of Baguette-Gonzalez-Plowman ahead of the No.24 Morgan Nissan of Pla-Brundle-Heinemeier Hansson.  Third in class was the No.26 G-Drive ORECA Nissan of Russian driver Rusinov with Conway and Martin.

LMGTE, overshadowed at the start of the 24 Hours by the tragic death of Aston Martin’s Allan Simonsen, was eventually claimed by the new Porsche 911 RSR of Lietz-Lieb-Dumas.  Porsche also took second, the No.92 of Pilet-Bernhard-Bergmeister ahead of the No.97 Aston Martin Vantage of Mucke-Turner-Dumbreck.

In the GTE Am category the No.76 IMSA Performance Matmut of Vernay-Narac-Bourret clinched victory ahead of the AF Corse Ferraris.
