Fulin, Comte and Krammes top test

The first one-hour Test session ahead of Sunday’s two races at the Slovakia Ring saw the Krenek Motorsport BMW 320si of Petr Fulín set the fastest lap time (2:15.334).

Second quickest was Aurélien Comte in a Single-Make Trophy SEAT León (2:17.087), while the Ford Fiesta of Kevin Krammes was the fastest of the Super 1600 competitors with a best lap of 2:33.708. After SEAT León SMT cars dominated both the season’s opening races at Monza in March, this time it was the turn of a BMW to shine. Fulín was the only driver to break the 2:17.000 barrier, setting a lap time over 1.7 seconds quicker than second-placed Comte.

Third fastest was Fulín team-mate Michal Matějovský in another BMW (2:17.453) with Igor Skuz fourth in a Super 2000 SEAT (2:17.898). Behind Comte in the Single-Make Trophy for SEAT León Supercópa cars were Ferenc Ficza (2:18.868) and Andreas Pfister (2:18.983) while Ulkike Krafft (2:33.830) was once again the closest challenger to Krammes in S1600.

 The session wasn’t without incident, with Nicolas Hamilton spinning his SEAT at Turn 13 and Dušan Borković and Anton Zaitsev both running off the track at the long right-hand hairpin Turn 6. 

The second Test period is due to get underway at 14.45 CET this afternoon, with the half-hour Qualifying session starting at 14.45 on Saturday.
