Regional empowerment: FIA attends Region I Spring Meeting in Cairo, Egypt
More than 100 delegates attended the three-day event.
The FIA President, Secretary Generals, and Mobility Department attended the FIA Region I Spring Meeting in Cairo this week.
The event was an opportunity for clubs from across Europe, Africa and the Middle East to meet and discuss key mobility issues and priorities. FIA Representatives also attended the event to share information about initiatives, learning and development, and grant programmes.
FIA President Mohammed Ben Sulayem said: “I would like to thank everyone who attended this week’s event for their engagement, focus, and enthusiasm. It was encouraging to see the progress that we are making through continued collaboration and knowledge-sharing.”
The President joined delegates for many of this week’s sessions - which included Match-Making Networking, an FIA University meeting, a MENA Sports session, a thematic session on Green Mobility, and the Region I Plenary.
These meetings were complemented by a diverse social programme, held across the Egyptian capital.
FIA Member Club ATCE (the Automobile and Touring Club of Egypt) hosted their centenary event during the week, with a lively panel on Egyptian motor sport followed by a Cocktail Party at their headquarters.
The week’s events closed with a spectacular Gala Dinner at the National Museum of Egyptian Civilisation. There, FIA Region I President Jorge F. Delgado presented the FIA Region I Awards to Touring Club Suisse (Innovation Award), ADAC (Special Category Award) and NAF (Excellence in Advertising Awards).
