Heikki Kovalainen says he has made no decision yet on where he will race in 2013 saying that at the moment he is fully focused on helping Caterham to move up the grid.

The Finn joined the team in 2010 when it first came into the sport, as Lotus. Three years later and having helped the team to consecutive top 10 finishes in the Constructors’ Championship, Kovalainen’s stock has risen and in recent weeks he has been linked with several teams further up the grid.

However, when questioned about the rumours yesterday, Kovalainen insisted that there have, as yet, been no talks about what will happen when his contract expires at the end of this season.

“I think it’s the time of the season where you hear a lot of rumours regarding a lot of drivers, and for me nothing has changed at the moment,” he said. “The only focus is improving our team and our car, and making the best out of what we’ve got. Then at some point we’ll sit down with my management and sit down with Caterham first and then see what we’ll do for the future.”

Kovalainen will this weekend race at the scene of his only Formula One victory, the Hungaroring, where he won in 2008, but the Caterham driver admitted that the triumph is now so long ago that it offers no extra good feeling now.

“I have pretty similar feelings [about this race] to any other grand prix,” said. “It’s too long since I won here. It’s just one weekend in the whole championship. Of course, as a Finn this feels a little bit like a home grand prix. We have a lot of people from Finland always turning up here. In that way it is perhaps a warmer feeling through the weekend than some of the races. But apart from that, it’s business as usual.”
