EHRC - OVER 50 FULL SEASON ENTRIES AND COUNTING
Nine new entries have been received since the opening round of the 2022 season in Spain, with the entry list now standing at 53, with more expected in the coming weeks. The 2022 entry has already exceeded the total last season, which stood at 48 when the list closed in July 2021.
Reigning Category 2 Champion Vojtech Stajf will return with a new car, starting at his home rally in the Czech Republic, the 30th Historic Vltava Rally. Stajf is swapping his Category 2 Opel Kadett C Coupe GT/E for a Category 4 Toyota Celica GT Four ST165 and will compete with a new co-driver, Frantisek Rajnoha.
EHRC regulars Pentti Veikkanen and Timo Jaakkola are making a welcome return to the championship in their Category 3 Porsche 911 SC.
Fellow Finns Jukka Aromaa and Asko Sairanen will enter a Skoda Favorit 136L in Category 4, with two more Finnish cars in Category 1. The Ford Escort Twin Cam of Tuomo Liukkonen and Vesa Suhonen and the Volvo 122 Jari Hyvarinen and Jarno Ala-Turkia, both cars being run by 2019 Team Champions Historic Rally Club Finland.
Italian duo Pietro Corredig and Sonia Borghese are returning to the EHRC this season in the Scuderia Friuli Acu run Category 2 BMW 2002 Ti, as is Georg Reitsperger, the Austrian competing in the Category 3 VW Golf 16S.
Flexifly Rally Team have a fourth entry on the list, with husband and wife team Greg and Caroline McCormack running a Category 2 Ford Escort RS1800, joining Greg’s brother Marty, who had already signed up and competed in the opening round in Spain in the Category 3 Ford Escort RS1800.
Hungarian teammates Ferenc Wirtmann and Jozsef Kerekes are another entry in Category 3 with a Ford Escort RS1800.
