Robin Larsson signs up for full World RX campaign
Larsson impressed on his debut World RX Supercar season last year, scoring a podium at World RX of Norway and ending the year in style with a victory at World RX of Argentina. In 2014, Larsson secured the coveted FIA European Rallycross Championship (Euro RX) title, an accolade which Robin father’s also won on two separate occasions (2006 and 2007).
“We’ve updated the car with some parts and some new developments that we think will help us on the track,” explained Larsson. “I’ve also learned a lot about the circuits: some were new to me last year so I’m coming back to all the tracks I've driven at least once before which will definitely help.”
The 23-year-old added: “Consistency is very important: of course everybody wants to win every race, but I’ve learned that good tactics is critical to success. Last year I wanted to win as much as I could in the beginning but during the second half of the season I started to drive a lot more smartly and it really worked. I’m not here to make any friends - only good results for my future in the sport. All the teams are stepping up this year - the sport is getting bigger so it's going to be a really tough year. We're a small team compared to some of the bigger guys. So, this year I really need to be on my toes for every single race. I’m ready to kick of the season in Portugal with lots of motivation.”
Round one of the 2016 World RX season takes place in Montalegre, Portugal, in a month’s time (15-17 April).
