Réintroduction du point de championnat récompensant le meilleur temps au tour en Formule 1

A compter du Grand Prix d’Australie programmé le week-end prochain, le pilote qui aura réalisé le tour le plus rapide en course se verra accorder un point, à condition qu’il soit également classé parmi les 10 premiers. Un point sera attribué par ailleurs au constructeur ayant engagé ce pilote.
Le Conseil Mondial du Sport Automobile de la FIA a approuvé cette modification du Règlement Sportif 2019 lors de sa dernière réunion du 7 mars à Genève, sous réserve que l’e-vote du F1 Strategy Group et de la Commission F1 y soit favorable. Ce processus s’est conclu ce jour sur un accord unanime.
Ce changement signifie que 21 points de championnat supplémentaires pourront être accumulés au cours d’une saison.
