World RX
World Rallycross Championship
The FIA World Rallycross Championship (World RX) is head-to-head short, sharp racing on mixed surfaces (dirt and asphalt) contained within amphitheatre venues. For 2024 the field opens up to include sustainably-fuelled combustion-engined (ICE) cars racing alongside the all-electric (EV) RX1 cars in a ‘Battle of Technologies’. This year the high-profile drivers will race for position rather than time, making the format more easily understandable – with championship points awarded after each heat, semi-final and final, encouraging drivers to push flat-out on every single lap. Since the series made its debut in 2014, World RX has raced at the world’s most iconic purposed-built rallycross circuits, specially adapted Formula One venues and city centre locations like downtown Hong Kong.
