Motorsport Australia’s President of Honour, Andrew Papadopoulos is one of many motorsport figures to be recognised in the Queen's Birthday 2021 Honours List.

Round 2 of the 2021 FIA World Endurance Championship saw an epic battle for victory in each of the classes, with Toyota Gazoo Racing taking a 1-2 at the head of the 32 car field at the end of the 8 Hours of Portimão. The #8 Toyota GR010-Hybrid, driven by Sebastien Buemi, Brendon Hartley and Kazuki Nakajima, took a last gasp win after being challenged by the #7 Toyota in the final 15 minutes of the race and a race long challenge by the #36 Alpine Elf Matmut A480-Gibson.

Irish ace James Deane beat local 16-year-old sensation Nikolass Bertans to clinch his maiden FIA Intercontinental Drifting Cup in Sunday’s final held at the Bikernieki track in Riga. Ukraine’s Max Miller rounded out the podium.

Similarly to last year, Germany’s Sascha Lenz leaves round 1 of the FIA European Truck Racing Championship as points standings leader, with local ace Norbert Kiss having his weekend compromised by a technical failure in the opening race of the event.

The post qualifying press conference saw the pole sitters from the four classes answer some questions.

The #36 Alpine ELF Matmut A480 claimed the pole position for round two of the 2021 FIA World Endurance Championship at the 8 Hours of Portimao. Matthieu Vaxiviere topped the time sheets to secure the first overall WEC pole position for Alpine.
