FIA Hill Climb Masters 2014

In 2014, the FIA gave the go-ahead for the creation of a new hill climb competition: the FIA Hill Climb Masters.
The aims of the Masters are to bring together the best hill climb drivers of the year gone by, from the international and national championships, and to showcase them during a single annual event.

DRIVERS
The drivers eligible for the Masters will be those classified in 2014 among the first twelve (per category) in the FIA European Hill Climb Championship and the FIA International Hill Climb Cup, the first three in the FIA zone championships, the best drivers in each national championship (Top 5 in each category, Top 3 in each group), plus the best Female Driver and the best Junior (under 25 years) designated by each national federation.

VEHICLES
The cars will be divided into three categories:

1. Production - for touring and grand touring cars.
2. Competition - for single-seaters, prototypes and silhouettes.
3. Open - for cars meeting their specific national regulations.

A DOUBLE COMPETITION: DRIVERS & NATIONS CUP
The Masters will offer:
- a competition for the Masters drivers;
- a competition for nations (the “Nations Cup").

The National Sporting Authority (ASN) appoints the Captain and the 4 drivers who will constitute the national team.

MEDALS AND PRIZES
Inspired by the Olympic celebrations, Gold, Silver and Bronze medals are awarded to the winning drivers and captains.
During the ceremony, the FIA Masters cup is handed to the Captain and drivers of the national team that won the competition. The nation that wins three editions of the Masters will receive the original Cup to keep permanently.
At each of the competitions, additional awards, distinctions and prize money may be awarded by the Organisers, the ASNs or by the FIA.
