As a complement to the FIA Solidarity Programme, launched to unify ASNs and ACNs facing the consequences of COVID-19, the FIA advocates 12 key actions that Sporting Clubs should take to ensure that when motor sport can get back on track, it will be organised in a safe and sustainable way, compliant with the guidance of Governments and WHO public health advice.

Formula 1 has announced a new #WeRaceAsOne initiative, in support of the #PurposeDriven Movement launched by the FIA last week. Find the announcement in full below:

La Fédération Internationale de l'Automobile (FIA) a organisé sa première eConférence Sport et Mobilité du 15 au 18 juin. Elle a rassemblé près de 1 000 participants issus de 243 clubs membres dans 146 pays, qui ont travaillé ensemble pour l'avenir du sport automobile et de la mobilité dans le monde.

The 88th 24 Hours of Le Mans, postponed to 19-20 September, will follow a particularly action-packed four-day schedule that promises to be as intense and as exciting as ever for the 62 teams involved. Between Thursday 17 and Sunday 20 September, we will see four free practice sessions, qualifying, the Hyperpole session and a warm-up, culminating with the 24-hour endurance race itself.

The Austrian Grand Prix inaugurated this year’s Formula 1 season, in what was the first major international sporting event since the Covid-19 crisis. Prior to the resumption of racing, Dr Harald Hertz, President of the Austrian Motorsport Federation (AMF) and Vice President of the Austrian Motoring and Touring Club (ÖAMTC), outlined the work undertaken to get back on track.

The FIA and Formula E are now able to announce that the 2019 – 2020 season, suspended since 13 March due to the global COVID-19 pandemic, is set to move into the green flag regime and resume racing.

As part of the FIA Young Driver Programme, the Automobile and Touring Club of Lebanon (ATCL) recently conducted an online workshop addressed to young students interested in learning what it takes to enter the motor sport industry, and what are the key attributes to lead engineering areas in motor sport teams.

Several FIA member clubs from the NACAM region have taken a proactive approach, looking beyond the current Covid-19 crisis as well as planning to build the foundations for a brighter future of motor sport at national level.
