The last week of FIA meetings, which included the World Motor Sport Council and the General Assembly, led to several new developments in the historic motor sport landscape.

At last week’s World Council for Automobile Mobility and Tourism, FIA President Jean Todt announced the Australian Automobile Association as the recipient of the 2020 FIA Road Safety Award for “the Most Effective Road Safety Intervention by an FIA Club” for its ‘Drive in the Moment’ initiative.

Combined chest and rib protection will be mandatory at FIA Karting events from 2021.

In 2020 the FIA Women in Motorsport Commission celebrated its 10th anniversary. Commission President Michèle Mouton reflects on over a decade of intense effort, activity and engagement and explains why the mission to make motor sport more inclusive must go on.

The FIA has opened entries for next year’s FIA European Truck Racing Championship season. Competitors willing to take part in 2021 as full season entrants will be accepted until April 23, 2021.

The FIA’s annual FIA Prize Giving ceremony, which takes place on Friday, December 18, will be supported by official partners Rolex and Michelin and by BMW as the transportation partner.

Compte tenu de la pandémie actuelle de COVID-19 et des restrictions de voyage découlant de la crise sanitaire, la FIA a tenu aujourd'hui son Assemblée générale annuelle sous une forme hybride, en présentiel et en ligne, depuis Genève en Suisse. La Fédération clôturait ainsi, par cette assemblée en grande partie virtuelle, sa série annuelle de réunions des Clubs Membres de la FIA Sport et Mobilité du monde entier, tenues pour la plupart elles à distance. L'Assemblée tenue cette année s’achèvera ce soir par la cérémonie en ligne de remise des prix de la FIA, au cours de laquelle les lauréats des Championnats de la FIA seront mis à l'honneur.
