2016 Formula 1 Pirelli Chinese Grand Prix Media Visa Application The following is a description of the procedures international media personnel must follow in order to get a Chinese media visa. Please note that the visa only authorizes reporting from Shanghai International Circuit concerning the 2016 Formula 1 Pirelli Chinese Grand Prix. If media representatives wish to conduct any other reporting than the one applied for, they will have to apply again to their nominated Chinese embassy or consulate. Please follow the procedures to obtain a Chinese Media Visa: 1. Please complete the attached “Visa Information List” and return it to the following email address. The shanghai foreign affair office requests a brief introduction of the media like the organization’s background, areas the media cover, the frequency the media publishes. The brief introduction need using the media’s official headletter and signed by the director. The form is asked in PDF. The circuit will gather your information first and send to shanghai foreign affair office according to their instructions. No submission after April 5th will be accepted. Please ensure that all information provided on the form is as accurate as possible in order to avoid any delay of the application. First and last names must be the official and complete ones as given in your passport. Please fill your full name in the visa information list. You also need to indicate the Chinese visa-issuing consulate or embassy most convenient for you to go to in person and apply for the visa. Once you have nominated the consulate or embassy, any further changes will unfortunately delay the application process. Please fill in your full contact details, so that the circuit can contact you immediately should there be any need to double check any of the information you have provided. 3. Please kindly noted that Media Visa has its validity. That means once your visa is issued , you must arrived in Shanghai within stated days. As 2016 Formula 1 Pirelli Chinese Grand Prix will be held from April 15th , Shanghai foreign affair office will not deal with the application before the beginning of March. 4. Once the confirmation from Shanghai foreign affair office has been sent to your nominated embassy/consulate, the circuit will notify the applicant by email. Please be advised that there will be no copy from SFAO for any applicants. However, the applicant still needs to go through the specific procedure at their nominated embassy/consulate and will not be able to just go there to pick up the processed visa. The process may take some days. So it is recommend that you can make a phone call to check the confirmation from SFAO before you go to the nominated embassy/consulate. As the issuance of the media visa is at the sole discretion of the embassy/consulate, media have to follow their instructions and must consult them immediately should there be any confusion or problems during the process.
