As part of a long-term agreement, the FIA and Magneti Marelli join forces in common areas of work, from technical aspects to marketing.
Magneti Marelli designs and produces advanced systems and components for the automotive industry. With 85 production units, 15 R&D centers in 20 countries, approximately 44,000 employees and a turnover of 8.2 billion Euro in 2017, the group supplies all the major carmakers in Europe, North and South America and the Asia Pacific region.
Magneti Marelli Motorsport division designs and produces electronic and electro-mechanical systems for two- and four-wheeled racing vehicles. In particular, it develops high-tech systems for engine and vehicle control, fuel injection, data acquisition, race telemetry, electric powertrains and high-performance automatic transmissions.

As the FIA Official Motorsport Electronic Monitoring Unit Supplier, Magneti Marelli performs research and development for the FIA in telemetry and data analysis in some of the most important FIA championships:
- FIA World Rally Championship (FIA WRC)
- FIA World Touring Car Cup (FIA WTCR)
- FIA World Rallycross Championship (FIA WRX)
- FIA World Endurance Championship (FIA WEC)
- FIA Formula E Championship (FIA FE)
The solutions provided are oriented to safety, policing, scrutineering and performance balance. Moreover, Magneti Marelli is also a Global Partner of the FIA Sport Conference for 2016, 2017, 2018 & 2019 editions.
