FIA President Jean Todt and Walter Mertes, CEO of the Formel 3 Vermarktungs GmbH have today met in Geneva and signed the contract extending the present agreement.

It is the first renewal of the agreement among the parties, since the FIA appointed Formel 3 Vermarktungs GmbH as its Formula 3 championship promoter back in 2013.

The continuation of the contract with the current promoter will ensure consolidation of an already strong championship, and will result in securing the championship`s stability as well as predictability and strong perspectives for all its stakeholders on a long term basis.

The FIA and Formel 3 Vermarktungs GmbH are looking forward to jointly improving and strengthening the FIA Formula 3 European Championship`s assets and to maintaining its already strong growth.

Jean Todt, FIA President: “The signing of this promotional agreement with Formel 3 Vermarktungs GmbH is another step to move things forward for the FIA Formula 3 European Championship. It is essential that the FIA is able to rely on strong commercial partners in order to guarantee the operation of its series on a long term basis. Since 2013, Formel 3 Vermarktungs GmbH has provided a robust commercial platform which helped the renewal of Formula 3 as a category. It was an important contribution to the rebuilding of the single-seater ladder that is one of the goals of the FIA.”

Walter Mertes: “We are delighted with the extension of this agreement. In partnership with the FIA, we have, during the last three years, made great progress with setting up and developing this championship which has been a great stepping stone for so many racing stars up until now. This agreement allows both parties to continue on this successful path. We are confident that the FIA Formula 3 European Championship still has a huge potential to further grow and progress in 2016 and beyond.”

La FIA reconduit l’accord de promotion pour le Championnat d’Europe de Formule 3 de la FIA

La FIA et Formel 3 Vermarktungs GmbH (filiale d’ITR) prolongent leur contrat relatif à l’organisation et à la promotion du Championnat d’Europe de Formule 3 de la FIA.

Le Président de la FIA, Jean Todt, et le PDG de Formel 3 Vermarktungs GmbH, Walter Mertes, se sont rencontrés ce jour à Genève pour signer la prolongation du contrat en vigueur.

Il s’agit de la première reconduction de l’accord conclu entre les deux parties, depuis que la FIA a désigné Formel 3 Vermarktungs GmbH comme le promoteur de son Championnat de Formule 3 en 2013.

La prorogation du contrat avec l’actuel promoteur renforcera encore davantage le championnat en lui assurant une plus grande stabilité, une visibilité accrue et en offrant des perspectives claires à toutes les parties prenantes à long terme. 

La FIA et Formel 3 Vermarktungs GmbH sont impatients de développer ensemble les atouts du Championnat d’Europe de Formule 3 de la FIA et de poursuivre sa croissance déjà forte.

C’est une contribution importante à la reconstruction de la pyramide des monoplaces, qui est l’un des objectifs de la FIA."

Ce contrat permettra aux deux parties de continuer sur cette lancée. Nous sommes sûrs que le Championnat d’Europe de Formule 3 de la FIA peut encore progresser considérablement en 2016 et au-delà."
